From narrating the history of Jubilee Park to sharing the serene beauty of Dimna Lake, you will create memorable experiences that connect people to the “Steel City” soul.
Key Responsibilities
- Guided Tours & Storytelling: Lead engaging tours across industrial, cultural, and natural sites, delivering informative and captivating narratives about the city’s unique planning and history.
- Visitor Engagement: Interact warmly with tourists, answer queries, and ensure a welcoming and enriching experience for both leisure travelers and corporate visitors.
- Cultural & Industrial Interpretation: Explain the history of the Tata Group, the significance of local landmarks, and the blend of multicultural traditions that define the city’s architecture and layout.
- Tour Planning & Coordination: Assist in organizing itineraries, scheduling visits to local parks and temples, and ensuring smooth tour operations.
- Safety & Assistance: Ensure the safety and comfort of visitors throughout the tour, particularly when navigating popular outdoor spots.
- Local Promotion: Encourage tourism by highlighting local attractions like the Russi Modi Centre of Excellence, local cuisine, and the city’s vibrant sports culture.
Qualifications
- Communication Skills: Excellent speaking and presentation skills with a professional and friendly personality.
- Knowledge Base: Strong understanding of Jamshedpur’s history, the legacy of Jamsetji Tata, and the geography of the East Singhbhum district.
- Customer Service Orientation: Ability to handle diverse groups—from students to international business travelers—with patience and professionalism.
- Experience: Prior experience as a tourist guide or in hospitality/public relations is preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Multilingual Ability: Fluency in Hindi, English, and Bengali (knowledge of Santhali or Ho is a plus).
- Storytelling Talent: Ability to make industrial history and urban development engaging and memorable.
